Recently, these submissions were published. Our founder and managing director, Graeme Croft, submitted a detailed 6-page report that caught the eye of The Weekly Source. The resulting article details Graeme’s explanation of systematic failures and what can be done to strengthen Australia’s aged care services.

Signature Care withdraws plans for Goulburn aged care home after Council demands 50% higher-than-average fee https://www.croft.com.au/signature-care-withdraws-plans-for-goulburn-aged-care-home-after-council-demands-50-higher-than-average-fee/ Wed, 16 Dec 2020 22:12:00 +0000 https://www.croft.com.au/?p=2743 As explained in the attached article, Signature Care’s Goulburn project has been withdrawn due to the Goulburn Council pushing for a 50% higher than average infrastructure charge. Despite this one irregularity, many councils have incentives for development that will see many new homes built. With the success of the newly opened Langwarrin home, development has not slowed down and 16 homes are in the pipeline.

Emmaus College Students Learn on Jimboomba Job Site https://www.croft.com.au/emmaus-college-students-learn-on-jimboomba-job-site/ Thu, 03 Dec 2020 22:15:00 +0000 https://www.croft.com.au/?p=2746 It’s true that this year has had many detrimental effects across the board, but it’s also true that misfortune often offers new opportunities and alternative ways to achieve our goals.

Due to COVID-19, students from Emmaus College Jimboomba weren’t going to be able to get the hands-on experience that is included as part of their Certificate I in Construction. However, this offered an opportunity for the students to get the important real-world experience with our Croft construction team at the East Street Jimboomba site.

As the year closes, the students that got to learn directly from experienced people in the industry have now all completed their certificate and are closer to realising their full potential and discover where their personal skills and hard work will take them.

Jobs boost for aged care facility https://www.croft.com.au/repudiandae-sint-et-molestiae-non-recusandae/ https://www.croft.com.au/repudiandae-sint-et-molestiae-non-recusandae/#respond Tue, 27 Feb 2018 11:51:30 +0000 http://saral.theironnetwork.org/?p=453 An aged-care facility with more than 140 beds will open in Moe in November and create more than 144 jobs during its construction and opening phases, the state government said.

Industry and Employment Minister Ben Carroll toured the Albert Street site earlier today which is expected to cater for the region’s aging baby boomer population.

The $20 million facility will include an in-house commercial kitchen, library, cafe and a variety of communal spaces for residents and their families.

“Signature Care have chosen Moe out of a lot of places because they see the demographics changing here. They see an opportunity in the market and when this facility opens up in November it’s going to be wonderful,” Mr Carroll said.

“[The state government] won’t have a direct role in terms of the administration [however] it will be 144 beds but some of those beds will be double beds for couples.

“We are there to support, particularly through our investments in TAFE and Federation Training, should there be any skills shortage … to assist [Signature Care] and the Latrobe City Council … to provide opportunities for long-term unemployed in the region to get a job here.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, the recently-appointed minister said the project would create construction opportunities for about 55 people during the building phase.

Mr Carroll said private investment in assets such as rail and the Latrobe Regional Hospital provided an incentive for businesses like Signature Care to set up shop in the region.

Third year carpentry apprentice Mat Notman, Signature Care chief executive Graeme Croft, Latrobe City mayor Darrell White and member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing toured the construction site.

Third year carpentry apprentice Mat Notman, Signature Care chief executive Graeme Croft, Latrobe City mayor Darrell White and member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing toured the construction site.

Signature Care chief executive Graeme Croft said the state-of-the-art facility would house some of the finest items in technology and equipment.

“This facility in terms of its quality and the amenity it will offer residents will be amongst the finest of anything that’s being produced across the country,” Mr Croft said.

“In any region we have a mix of local and outside specialist contractors so generally we would have a specialist contractor who would then provide local labour.

“Our site manager is a local and we’ve also taken a team that developed our aged care facility at Sale.”

State member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said it was a “great sign of confidence” in the Latrobe Valley and said considerable work had been done to attract private investment into the region.

“We’ve worked so hard to be able to develop as much private investment in the area as possible and to see that coming to fruition …. is a really wonderful thing.

“There’s a lot to be proud of and being able to welcome this new investment and new jobs to the region just shows the potential and momentum that we’re really seeing take off right throughout the region.”

Graeme Croft snaps up land at Grafton Golf Club for $2.2M

Published on

Mr Croft’s Signature Care group plans to build a $35M, 144-bed aged care facility on the Club’s former 10th and 11th holes.

The land had originally been slated for a 14-block subdivision, but Club President Trevor Townsend said the sale would double the return they would have made.

More than 90% of members voted in favour of the sale, but it will be at least six months before a final decision is made.

This is the fifth Croft-related development we have reported on in the past six months.

Industry veteran Graeme Croft to invest $100M in aged care for north QLD

Published on

His family-run Croft Developments plans to spend over $100M across three aged care developments in Manoora, Edmonton and Caravonica over the next 18 months, the Cairns Post reports.

Croft Developments is well-regarded in the sector for its construction of aged care facilities throughout VIC, NSW, QLD and the ACT.

Until 2013, they designed and built facilities under their Innovative Care brand, before selling their 10 facilities with 1,141 beds to Bupa. Since then, they constructed six aged care facilities for Bupa with 838 beds while Innovative Care (now known as Signature Care) has over 1,300 aged care beds due to be completed in the next three years.

They have the beds to back up their plans. Signature Care scored the second highest number of beds – 640 – in the latest Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) after Lendlease.
